Heptor (ademetionine) is a hepatoprotector used for treatment of hepatic diseases, depression, abstinence syndrome (alcoholic, etc.). S-ademetionine was first discovered by Giulio Cantoni in 1952.
Heptor has following effects:
- antidepressant activity;
- choleretic and cholekinetic effects;
- detoxification, regenerating, antioxidant, antifibrosis and neuroprotective properties.
Inside, preferably in the morning between meals.
The recommended dose is 10-25 mg / kg / day. Daily dosage ranges from 800 mg / day to 1600 mg / day.
The duration of therapy is determined by the doctor.
The most frequent side effects identified during clinical trials involving more than 2,100 patients were: headache, nausea, and diarrhea.
Hypersensitivity to ingredients of the drug, age below 18 years old, pregnancy and lactation.
