Anaprilin (Propranolol) is a beta-blocker drug that is widely used to treat hypertension, heart arrhythmia, and performance anxiety.
Propranolol works by blocking the effect of epinephrine and norepinephrine on the body, thus relieving the physical manifestation of anxiety such as stuttering, racing heart, sweating, and dizziness.
Dosage and administration
Anaprilin can be used occasionally for a stage fright relief at the 40mg dosage. For a long-term of generalized anxiety disorder, the dosage is 40mg twice daily, which can be raised to 40mg three times a day if necessary. Duration of the treatment course depends on the patient’s response to the treatment.
